Robertson Facilities Management appointed delivery partner for Wakefield Council
Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) has been appointed as a new external delivery partner for Wakefield Council, providing hard facilities management services.
RFM will deliver hard services to all of Wakefield Council’s corporate estate, through planned and reactive maintenance including small projects and small works, and will provide a 24-hour help desk.
The new arrangement, which has been put in place following the end of the contract with the previous provider, will also see some property and facilities management (PFM) services delivered directly by the Council.
The corporate estate also includes 60 schools, and RFM is delighted that employees from the incumbent provider are joining the business.
The new approach by the Council, which sees Gleeds handling the Professional Services function, enables the Council greater control and flexibility.
RFM was awarded the contract based on its commitment to quality and approach to service delivery and efficiencies.
Cllr Les Shaw, cabinet member for resources and property, Wakefield Council, said: “We are pleased to confirm our new partnerships with Robertson. We welcome their expertise to help us deliver the transformation of our property and facilities management services.
“This new approach will give us the control and flexibility we need, whilst also benefitting from the knowledge and expertise of specialists in these areas. It was important to us that we protected and supported jobs of existing colleagues and I am pleased to see so many of them join RFM.”
