Integrating local healthcare services

The new Health & Care Village, a joint venture by Stirling Council, NHS Forth Valley and the Scottish Ambulance Service, was developed by Robertson through hub East Central Scotland – a partnership between public and private sector organisations.

The Stirling Health & Care Village supports the integration of local health and social care services, making it easier for staff to work together to deliver better coordinated, joined-up care to local people – a key aim of the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership.

The facility brings together a wide range of health and social services in two new purpose-built facilities. The 100-bed Care Hub provides short-term care, assessment and rehabilitation for elderly patients, as well as support for patients with dementia and those needing palliative or end-of-life care. The new Primary and Urgent Care Centre provides more modern, spacious accommodation for existing health services including minor injuries, X-ray facilities and GP out-of-hours services. It also houses several local GP practices which relocated to purpose-built premises within the new centre.

Key facts

  • Exceptional H&S management, working between two operational NHS buildings without comprising the healthcare provision or build programme.
  • Time efficiencies using in-house timber engineering to design, supply and install 10,962m2 of prefabricated timber panels, floor cassettes and roof trusses.
