Work on new affordable homes in Elgin completed by Robertson
Work has officially completed on a project to bring much-needed quality and affordable social housing to Elgin.
Hanover Scotland - which specialises in care and support for the elderly - appointed Robertson, one of the UK's largest infrastructure firms, to deliver the 44 unit project as part of a £7m contract.
Robertson has delivered the modern two-bedroom flats for different needs. These include 14 amenity flats, five specially adapted flats, five dementia flats and 20 extra care flats. There are also landscaped areas and courtyards for all the residents to enjoy, including a dementia-friendly garden.
Frank Reid, Managing Director, Robertson Northern said: "We're incredibly proud to have delivered another project for Hanover Scotland, following previous developments in Forres, Fort William and Fochabers.
"As well as sharing the same values and standards as Hanover Scotland, which prides itself on bringing quality accommodation to communities across the country, this project has been especially important to us as Robertson was founded in Elgin over 50 years ago and we're still firmly rooted to the local area.
"These houses will undoubtedly enhance the lives of residents by providing them with comfortable, modern and secure homes designed to fit their needs."
Hanover Scotland is a leading housing association specialising in services for older people. It provides affordable, modern, and safe housing and services across Scotland, managing more than 4,000 homes for rent. Hanover also acts as factoring agent to more than 2,000 homeowners.
Helen Murdoch, Chief Executive at Hanover Scotland, said: "Creating quality housing at Hanover Scotland is one of our top priorities and we are delighted to have worked with Robertson again to deliver housing that will cater to the needs of our residents enabling them to live life to the fullest".
