Start date: August 2025 – roles are advertised between February and March, with interviews in April.
Entry requirements: 4 Highers (B)/HNC/HND equivalent in relevant subjects.
Duration: 4 to 6 years (course dependent).
Typical roles: business management, site management, quantity surveying, civil engineering and technology.
I was in my third year at uni when I came to Robertson as a summer intern. Until then I hadn't been on a construction site so initially found the experience quite overwhelming. However it also turned into the best thing I'd done during my degree in that it highlighted the development opportunities that come with being hands-on, as well as putting into practice things I'd learned from coursework.
I decided to join the trainee programme to continue working and finish my degree part-time. I love the role, and looking forward to becoming a graduate site manager in the next few months.
