Our capacity to carry out major operations moving and shaping large quantities of material – including excavation, screening and grading, and backfilling – makes sure your site is prepared to the correct specifications.
To achieve the outcome you need, we can select and implement ground engineering solutions – such as geosynthetics, stabilisation techniques, reinforcement products or retaining structures – whether to provide a solid base for further construction work, or to transform the land itself.
Roads and bridges
We have the experience to create a range of sizes and scale of infrastructure from temporary access roads and parking areas to highways and junctions to support residential or commercial developments, and haul roads designed for heavy vehicles. Our other transport projects have included active travel hubs and bus and tram infrastructure.
Our completed bridge work has covered various applications and settings, ranging from a 99m span steel footbridge , assembled in five parts on site providing access to a new urban park; to a reinforced concrete bridge, clad with locally sourced natural stone , was built to blend with its traditional rural surroundings.
Structures and reinforced concrete
To deliver reinforced concrete structures, we work as one with design consultants, customers, and our own in-house experts. Our diligent approach ensures that structures will be specified and built to withstand both temporary load conditions, as well as bear the permanent loads they will be subject to over their lifespan.
Skilfully creating reinforced structures, including plinths, bases, foundations, floor plates and superstructures, provide the vital infrastructure to support your construction project, while we also construct standalone structures such as weighbridges, plant houses, materials storage bays, and process buildings.
Drainage and flood alleviation
With years of designing and installing drainage and flood alleviation measures in our portfolio, we can manage water challenges and minimise pressure on infrastructure in a range of situations and settings, including storm water, surface water, foul water or combined applications.
We have delivered schemes incorporating elements such as permeable surfacing, attenuation tanks, SuDS ponds, hydro-brakes and flow control systems. Taking a collaborative approach to the design of site-specific flow requirements, we work as one team with our customers and their consulting engineers to develop effective, sustainable water management systems.
Ground remediation
We have experience in remediating soils and subsoils that have suffered environmental impact from pollution, industry or waste. Drawing on our knowledge of soil, subsoil and groundwater conditions, and working in partnership with our specialist supply chain and regulators, we design and implement restorative measures to remove contamination and return an area to a safe, environmentally compliant, usable and valuable state.
Landscaping
Soft landscaping works form a part of many of our contracts. These can range from finishing touches, reinstating a site after civil engineering works or enhancing it in keeping with its surroundings; to larger-scale works to shaping and sculpt a site, often by re-using excavated materials.
Our hard landscaping capability extends from designing and installing standard kerbing, surfacing and concrete ancillary products; through to projects that add value to the urban realm, often through attractive paving and street furniture in materials such as natural stone, hardwood and stainless steel.
