Angus Cycling Festival

Angus Cycling Festival

The Angus Cycling Festival is a two month programme of events organised by Angus Cycling Hub and Muckmedden Events and culminating in a packed two-day event in Reid Park in Forfar, Scotland. We helped out with equipment and grounds maintenance for one of the areas major annual events.

In September 2016, The Angus Cycling Festival incorporated events ranging from children's fun races to the men's and women's Scottish Cross Country (XC) mountain bike championships.

After our involvement in 2015, Robertson stepped in to help again, with Ross Miller of Robertson Facilities Management arranging our supplier Nixon Hire to provide free portable toilets and Apex Generators to suppling a generator free of charge.

In 2015 we had supplied high-viz vests for the event marshalls, which were used again this year.

Our FM Grounds team attended the park to maintain the Funduro track – a compact version of an Enduro mountain bike course that is suitable for all ages. We originally helped to form this track, after what was originally waste land had been donated to the Angus Cycle Hub by Angus Council.

Robertson signage banners helped to lend a professional feel to the event.

300 competitors took in some exciting competitive and fun events across the weekend of 16th and 17th September. As well as a multi-stage 'Funduro' race, there was a stunt airbag contest, a cycle skills course, food and live music entertainment. The Angus Cycle Hub is a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered Community Interest Company run by volunteers, and dedicated to supporting and developing cycling in the Angus region and beyond.
