Summary
Transforming student living facilities
Robertson transformed the site of a former derelict public house into student accommodation – Caledon Court offers a place to live for up to 200 students and is just a stone’s throw away from the Robert Gordon University campus.
The area has gone through a massive transformation. Not only does it benefit the students living in the new accommodation but the whole community, providing new business and a fresh, contemporary building design.
The facility offers a mix of studio flats and apartments, along with indoor and outdoor social spaces.
The customer, Watkin Jones was delighted with the results and the overall space that has been created for students to enjoy during their studies in Aberdeen.
Supporting a local social enterprise
As a social enterprise trading charity, Glencraft provides career opportunities for disadvantaged and visually impaired people who currently make up 80 per cent of the workforce. Their contract to supply over 800 mattresses to Robertson for the student accommodation flats, Pittodrie Street and Caledon Court, means the company can consider moving towards a four-day working week for their employees.
