Timber solutions provided for new affordable homes.

Robertson Timber Engineering supplied the timber kits for the new affordable housing development in Langside Crescent, Kennoway.

The first phase of the project comprised of 43 units spread across 16 blocks in Kennoway, Fife. With a second phase, encompassing 20 units distributed over 9 blocks. All 25 blocks of townhouses & terraces were manufactured at our Elgin factory, utilizing factory-manufactured floor cassettes. The roof structures, constructed on the deck, were expertly craned into position, showcasing our expertise and precision in action. Notably, Robertson Timber Engineering’s innovative “Kit in a Day” approach was flawlessly executed on-site, further underlining our commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Affordable, sustainable and accessible housing

This tranche of Fife Council’s affordable housebuilding programme saw the construction of 43 new affordable, energy-efficient homes on a site that was formerly home to the Kennoway Primary School.

This development was the second of seven projects that Robertson is contracted to deliver for the council supporting their ambitious delivery programme across the region.

Affordable places to live for the long term

Robertson is supporting Fife Council in the drive to address the vitally important need for social and affordable housing. These properties are a great example of quality council-led development that will both be affordable to rent and live in for residents for many years to come.

Sustainable construction to achieve low running costs

Robertson delivered the highly energy efficient designs, which, alongside our other developments for Fife Council, will help to achieve the ambitious goal of boosting the number of quality houses in their stock.

Sprinkler systems are standard throughout, recognising both Fife and the Scottish Government's focus on  safety in new builds.

A host of energy efficiency features woven in to the build will keep running costs low for the residents, underlining the Council's commitment to the environment and the wellbeing of its communities.

Long-lasting community impact

Working in the heart of the community, we recognise the important part we play to create and generate social impact, helping to leave a legacy for years to come.
