Summary
Rebuilding Timmergreens Primary in Arbroath as part of a wider programme to renew the area's school facilities
The new Timmergreens Primary School in Arbroath forms the first phase of Angus Council’s major investment programme to upgrade the town’s primary schools, with Warddykes being redeveloped in tandem and Muirfield receiving improvements.
The project was led by development and procurement partner, hub East Central Scotland, with Angus Council designing the buildings and Robertson Tayside leading construction.
Robertson Specialist Divsion provided a K-Rend scraped render finish, so that the building would blend with the local environment.
The school caters for 220 pupils, with facilities including a games hall that is available for use by the local community.
The original structure – built in 1967 – was demolished to make way for a seven-classroom school that also includes nursery and ancillary accommodation, energy generation, a car park, play areas and external landscaping.
Pupils moved in to the new school in May 2016.
