Robertson has pledged its support to a new service that will help promote workplace wellbeing in the construction industry.

Robertson has pledged its support to a new service that will help promote workplace wellbeing in the construction industry.

The Health and Work Support Service – delivered by Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership – has been launched to subcontractors and their employees in the city. It will provide across the board professional support in areas including physical and mental health, money management, bereavement and legal issues.

The service acts as a single point of contact for individuals who are finding that a health issue or disability is making work difficult for them.

Robertson are supporting the service as part of efforts to address the recently publicised wellbeing challenges within the construction industry.

Gemma Gourlay, director of social sustainability for Robertson, said: "We are delighted to support the programme, which will provide simple access to wellbeing services, for all subcontractors and their employees throughout Dundee."

Wendy Third, the local lead for the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership, said: "I am delighted that the Health and Work Support initiative is developing and is being well received by employers and partner organisations.

"It is still early days for this pilot but the team is working together in partnership with agencies to ensure its success. Linking in health will provide an important additional benefit for people who will be accessing the Health and Work Support Service."

The introduction of the service adds to Robertson's long-established focus on promoting a positive, open workplace which includes a 24/7 support service for its employees and their families as well as the training of a dedicated team of mental health first aiders from within the business.
