Robertson Timber Engineering delivers its 200th unit for Lovell

This week, Robertson Timber Engineering (RTE) reached a significant milestone on its work for Lovell Partnerships’ development The Crossings near Edinburgh.

RTE is designing, supplying and erecting high quality timber framed structures for Lovells. The mixed-tenure development in South Queensferry will comprise a total of 178 houses and 120 apartments when complete.

The milestone was achieved in just 18 months, delivering quality housing efficiently and in line with project timelines. Each timber frame was custom-built at its high quality factory in Elgin, which takes advantage of the latest digital tools and technology to maximise efficiency and ensure precision engineering.

RTE has been designing, manufacturing and erecting precision engineered quality timber frame structures for over 35 years and has extensive expertise in helping projects achieve net-zero, passivhaus and high BREEAM ratings.

Mike Turner, Managing Director, Robertson Timber Engineering, said: “Delivering to programme, our 200th unit marks an important milestone in our first contract and strong relationship with Lovell. We’re involved in every stage of the process from design through to production and installation, ensuring excellence and reliability at each step.

“With a wealth of experience in sustainable offsite construction solutions, we’re pleased to support Lovell Partnerships in creating homes that prioritise energy efficiency and provide high quality homes for communities."

Tony Rankin, Managing Director in Scotland, Lovell Partnerships, said: “The 200th timber frame milestone highlights the strength of our partnership with Robertson Timber Engineering. Their precision-engineered solutions, combined with our capacity and capability to deliver at scale, ensures we can continue to deliver energy-efficient homes across Scotland.”

The development is being delivered in partnership by Lovell Partnerships, Sanctuary Scotland, Sigma Capital, the Scottish Government and City of Edinburgh Council.

RTE is part of Robertson Group, one of the largest family-owned construction, infrastructure and support services business in the UK.
