Transition and integration

Wakefield Council decided to reassess their facilities management (FM) strategy after outsourcing all FM services in 2016. In 2023, they brought cleaning and security services back in-house and appointed RFM as new contractor for Hard FM services. As part of the transition to this new model, 125 incumbent staff members were welcomed to Team Robertson, and a new collocated office was formed in the Council’s Headquarters, Wakefield One.

Enhanced control and flexibility

The Council’s new approach, which sees Gleeds handling large scale projects, allows for greater control and flexibility. RFM was awarded the contract due to its commitment to quality and efficient service quality.

As the selected delivery partner for all hard services, our focus will be on ensuring that Wakefield Council has an excellently maintained estate that will provide occupants with high-quality environments.”
“We are looking forward to welcoming the new employees, who will bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge of the council’s estate. The previous knowledge will be a huge benefit to Team Robertson as we deliver best in class, transformation services.
Adrian Mole,
Managing Director, Robertson Facilities Management
We are pleased to confirm our new partnership with Robertson. We welcome their expertise to help us deliver the transformation of our property and facilities management services.”
“This new approach will give us the control and flexibility we need, whilst also benefitting from the knowledge and expertise of specialists in these areas. It was important to us that we protected and supported jobs of existing colleagues and I am pleased to see so many of them join RFM.
