£6.5m Bolton development almost complete

£6.5m Bolton development almost complete

Our work on a flagship £6.5m office development in Bolton town centre is set to complete. Construction on the Bolton Central building, at the corner of Great Moor Street and Newport Street, started in December 2015.

The Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, was given a tour last week of the 30,000 sq ft five-storey development, which adjoins the town's new £48 million transport interchange. The interchange is being delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester in partnership with Bolton Council and is scheduled to open early Summer.

The Bolton Central building is being developed by PSP Bolton LLP – an innovative public and private sector partnership, comprising Bolton Council and Public Sector Plc.

Local contractors, including Lancashire Brick and Tile, have also been involved in the project. Around 144,000 textured Mystique bricks were used in the construction and all the internal lights are sensored and environmentally friendly LED.

Negotiations with a potential tenant are being progressed by PSP Bolton, with the aim that a lease will be agreed in the coming weeks.

This building is a key part of the redevelopment of this side of town and is in a prime location, next to the modern new interchange and the refurbishment of Newport Street – an important gateway into the town centre. We are working to make Bolton town centre a more vibrant place to come to work, shop and spend your leisure time and our plans are now coming together.
