Summary
Providing FM services for eight sites
Robertson Facilities Management manage and deliver hard and soft FM services across the Dundee Schools PPP contract.
The contract comprises of eight schools; two academies and six primary schools with a GIFA in excess of 58,000m² and a headcount of over 5,000 pupils.
Grove Academy and St Paul's Academy
Both schools have 146 rooms including a stage for drama production. Large indoor sports hall and swimming pool are also used by Dundee Council leisure services seven days a week.
Claypotts Castle Primary, Craigowl Primary, Downfield Primary, Rowantree Primary and St Andrews Primary
Each of these schools has 46 rooms including a nursery, stage and indoor sports hall.
Fintry Primary
The school has 14 classrooms, a nursery, a music/drama studio, assembly hall, and a range of community and other educational facilities.
Our services include property and building maintenance, hard grounds maintenance, security, waste disposal, pest control, energy management, energy and utilities maintenance, cleaning services and helpdesk. The majority of planned and reactive M&E maintenance is carried out by our mobile maintenance team supplemented by subcontractors for specialist maintenance, such as lifts, catering equipment, fire and intruder alarms.
Satisfying customer requirements
We have a close working partnership with Dundee City Council to ensure that our service delivery meets their needs. As a result, the contract has run exceptionally well over the 12 years it has been in operation even working with them to tackle issues such as vandalism and malicious damage.
The biggest change that has taken place since the contract began was Dundee City Council's request for Robertson FM to manage their janitorial duties. Previously Dundee City Council had in-house janitors performing duties that were not covered within the contract, but they soon realised we were more than capable of performing all janitorial duties. We worked together to develop a janitorial service that met the needs of the contract and within a year the service had been developed and mobilised.

Grove Academy has received two awards.

Our Facilities Management team were awarded 'Team of the Year' at the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Scotland Awards in 2017 for outstanding contributions, exemplary teamwork and positive impact on the facility.

Our FM team received an internal Robertson 'Team of the Year' award in 2015 for dedication and commitment to ensuring the facilities are kept well maintained, with professional service to all building users.
The Robertson Facilities Management team play a vital role in the effective running of the schools. Each year, they aim to develop their skills further and continue providing excellent service delivery. This has been commended by the customer, supporting subcontractors, pupil support workers, teachers and support teachers, who all contributed to their award submissions.
