Summary
A growing hotel brand expands into the North West
Robertson North West constructed a Moxy Hotel for developer Vastint Hospitality. It comprises 194 bedrooms, staff facilities, a ground floor entrance lobby and reception, and a commercial gym, and sits on the former Boughton Retail Centre site in Chester.
An expanding hotel brand in the UK
Moxy is a new lifestyle brand of Marriott, catering to younger travellers looking for a modern, tech-enabled service. It has an established presence in continental Europe and is expanding into the United Kingdom. The venue is to be operated by Belvar.
The hotel's central location puts the historic city centre of Chester within walking distance for visitors. It is situated on the canal, opposite the Shot Tower residential development, which has seen the regeneration of a former leadworks.
Moxy is a growing brand in the UK and Robertson is working with Vastint again, after working on:
Maximising value through off-site construction
To maximise build speed and save money for our customer, we use Vastint's innovative modular construction technique, covering the design, fabrication, transportation and assembly of all guest rooms. This includes structure, walls, complete bathrooms, room finishes and fit-out, as well as services including fire protection.
This modern method of construction provides several benefits such as an accelerated build period, enhanced quality due to rigorous testing and increased safety on site.
The pre-fabricated components arrive on site 'flat-packed' and ready to be stacked on the ground floor structure. The pre-installed services are then connected, and external cladding installed.
